Hello everyone :)
Just signed up to the forum to give you a review..
Well the night started off with Jason Mraz. I thought he was really good! I've never said before that a support act was good, but he was brilliant!

Then ofcourse James Blunt came on :D WooHoo! It was brilliant - he was full of energy and running around on the stage. The big screens helped at the sides as i am pretty small. *laughs*
When he sang No Bravery, i had tears in my eyes!
Ofcourse, he sang You're Beautiful at the end which was great as it got everyone singing.
Overall, he got a great reception and i had a great night :D
xx

Last nights show was brill. There was a down side thow, a bunch of plebs barged in infront of me and a group of others and deisided to have a domestic. We (I say we i mean one lady who was cool as hell) managed to get them moved thow.
So hello to those nice people i ended up standing beside all night. It was the left hand side of the stage. I'm the short one that had dark hair and a scarf on.

Thanks James that was excellent!

I heard on the news last week that James admitted lying in some interviews coz he he didn't want to seem boring. With his experience of conflict and the pain it brings; James must be to those with active military experience what Billy Bragg was to the miners twenty years ago. So... just be yourself James; you're the one we came to see; not some shallow, spineless celeb.

The songs came from the soul; I could see the depth of emotion in his eyes. It's ironic that we can derive so much pleasure from the depths of his pain; but at least he has a forum to openly share it with the world.

Hmm. That was a tad profound for a Sunday afternoon; but there's more to Capt Blunt than meets the eye and he touched my soul last night.

And now back to mundane day-to-day living. I'd like to think that the man himself got to read this; but this is the real world!

the concert was excellent - more than exceeded all expectations - so pleased he made the effort to come this far north - most bands think scotland ends @ glasgow or edinburgh. hope he comes back soon - even if it was a drafty old barn!!

Hi guys. Sorry i took ages to register + give a review but thats me all over!! The concert was absolutely excellent. Me and my best mate (Diana) got to the AECC at 2.30pm and hung around. We heard James' soundcheck which was really cool + then started queueing at 4pm. It was freezing but worth it cos we were at the front of the queue. When the doors opened at 6.30 we were frozen but we still managed to run to the front and we were just to the right of the middle, next to the keyboard player! Jason Mraz surprised me as a great support act + i'd love to hear more from him!

James came bounding on full of energy + gave a wonderful performance. I took loads of pics + i'm trying to upload them onto but my comp's really slow so it's taking ages! There's a couple up already. He was just soooo good and i sang along the whole time. I had tears in my eyes during "No Bravery" cos he had the footage up behind him that he'd taken when he was in the army and he sang it so passionately with such emotion - beautiful. Talking of beautiful he finished the whole gig with "You're Beautiful" and it was ace, everyone was singing. The only thing that ruined it for me was the eejits behind me that must've been fighting or something cos the security guys got in my way jumping over the barrier into the crowd so i couldn't see properly but that was only minor.

The best bit for me + Diana was still to come, we queued for merchandise (green monkey tshirt is ace!) and then went outside + waited next to the buses for James. Beggining to give up when the keyboard player came out + said James was still inside so we waited with a couple of older ladies (i can't remember their names!) and a girl who was goin in2 the aftershow party took our cd cover things + got James to sign them for us!!! :-) As if that wasn't enough we were standing with our backs to the door talking to her about James + asking things like "wots he like?" "can u get him to come out" and she started laughing and pointed behind us....HE WAS STANDING LISTENING TO OUR CONVERSATION!!!!! lol I was in sooooo much shock! (It's 12 midnight by now so we're absolutely frozen again!) He came and gave us all a hug + kiss and signed Diana's program. He told us we were mad for waiting in the cold but thanks 4 doin it. He was so cute, all wrapped up in a big coat with fluffy hood + hat and everything on, poor guy must've been so cold cos we were frozen + we're used to Aberdeen weather!! lol Anyway i think i've said enough, he was absolutely lovely + the concert was fab. I can't wait for him to come back again!

Love Rosie xxx

P.S How do i put the picture on here of me + him?!?!

BRIT-WINNER BLUNT PITCHES HIS AECC SHOW BEAUTIFULLY
11:00 - 27 February 2006
James Blunt is not everybody's cup of tea.

But to those who were at the AECC on Saturday, he was a full-blown cup of Earl Grey.

The Brit Award winner thrilled the sell-out crowd with hits from his multi-platinum Back To Bedlam album, as well as a couple of new songs.

The former British Army captain has come a long way since his last appearance in the North-east when he supported Sir Elton John at Pittodrie in 2004.

This time though, Blunt was the star attraction, although support act Jason Mraz threatened to outshine him, with a performance which included a bizarre classical version of Madness' Our House that segued into the Black Eyed Peas' Where Is The Love.

But Blunt stole the show with an enthusiastic performance during which he leapt about the stage, and even jumped from an amp at one point.

The songs might not be the most rocking, and he may have described the venue as a "noisy old barn," but Blunt was outstanding.

Before launching into Tears and Rain, Blunt freely admitted that he "sings like a little girl".

However, he proved that he can also sound like a fully-grown man with a rousing rendition of Out of My Mind.

The 28-year-old was backed by a four-strong band, but it was a solo performance of Goodbye My Lover that was the highlight.

The superb piano playing and Blunt's strong voice filled arena - and the crowd loved it.

During the outstanding No Bravery, haunting images of Blunt's time in Kosovo were played on the giant screen.

And after a storming 13 song set, Blunt left the stage, only to return for a two-song encore, finishing with his number one hit You're Beautiful.

Robbie Williams doesn't sing Angels at concerts - the fans do it for him.

And on Saturday's evidence, it wouldn't be wrong to suggest that You're Beautiful could become James Blunt's Angels.

I am actually disappointed in myself. I was there and I didnt think there was any point in waiting cause stupid me thought we wouldn't get near him anyway. You guys are soooo lucky! He was acutally ace though. Best concert ever. People are still raving about it. I so should have waited! Jason Mraz was pretty good too which surprised me. How did that woman get to go to the after party?

I know it was a wee while ago now, but I went to see James in Aberdeen a few months with my sis who is having a baby and at that point it was the first week the baby could hear stuff from outside so the babys first gig was James Blunt and the first song he/she ever heard was James. How cool is that? She kept her ticket for the babies memory book. Oh, and the gig was wicked. x

Pictures from the gig. Any of you out there? I was there, it was a great night! I think the audience gave so much back to James that night; very noisy, and James looked very happy.
